The cost of not getting rid of tattoos

The reason many people no longer feel a need to keep their tattoo is because it is no longer relevant to their present life situation. A tattoo is like a scar in many respects we get scars as a result of injury to our bodies, these accidents can damage our skin and leave behind scars that may look unattractive. Old tattoos may represent a carefree time in an individuals life or a time when they were not putting a tremendous amount of time into planning the long term consequences of their actions. We make decisions when we are young and inexperienced and we do not consider the long term effects of our actions.

If you consider how much we change through out the coarse of our lifetime, you can understand why laser tattoo removal is growing in demand. Socially accepted behavior and norms are changing all the time, so although having tattoos in exposed areas may be socially accepted an one time in our lifetimes, it is very possible that it will not be at another time.

We have all been in a room with an individual who has been addicted to tattoos, you know that person who is covered from head to toe with tattoos. It is very difficult not to look at that them and think to yourself, " I wonder what they were thinking when they decided to cover every square inch of their skin with ink?" I personally can't help but to become judgmental and think that they most certainly had to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol to take such dramatic measures with their appearance. Human natures is to judge other people on their appearance and whether you admit it or not I would be willing to bet that you do the same thing every day to people you live work, go to school with or socialize with.

So what is the real cost of not getting a tattoo removed with a laser? Besides the obvious up front cost associated with the laser treatments, and the cost of numbing cream you may never know who is discriminating you based on your physical appearance. Should you remove an old tattoo because other people may be judging you by it? That is a question only you can answer and after considering that those people around you may not be providing you with a fair opportunity in school, work or social circles base on that tattoo the answer may be yes. Let's face it what was cool during the 70's isn't any longer cool and what is cool in 2009 most certainly will not be fashionable in 2020.

In conclusion concerning the cost of not getting rid of you unwanted tattoo, I would leave you with the following points to consider.

• Do people judge me because of my old tattoo?
• How relevant is the is the old tattoo to my current life?
• Do I want to look in the mirror every day for the rest of my life and see the same old tattoo?
